How Consigning Works
RATART Auctions makes it simple to sell artworks through our curated auction platform. Here is the process from submission to payout.
1. Register as a Consignor
Apply to become a consignor. Set up your payout account through Stripe-hosted onboarding, which handles identity and business information for your region. Stripe will only request what is necessary based on your payout amount and destination.
2. Submit Artwork
Upload high-quality images (up to 8 per submission), provide artwork details — title, artist, medium, dimensions, year, and provenance — and set your expectations. Our team will provide an independent valuation to guide reserve pricing.
3. Curatorial Review
Every submission is reviewed by our curatorial team. We assess quality, condition, provenance, and fit within current or upcoming themes. We will be transparent with you — not every submission is accepted, and that selectivity is what keeps RATART Auctions credible for buyers.
4. Valuation & Listing
Accepted works receive an independent valuation. Reserve prices and estimates are set collaboratively. Your artwork is placed in a themed auction with a standard six-week consignment window — focused exposure, not indefinite listing.
5. Auction & Sale
During the auction, buyers place verified bids backed by payment holds. You can track interest and bidding activity from your consignor dashboard. Blind bidding protects the integrity of the process.
6. Ship & Get Paid
Once your artwork sells, coordinate shipping (tracked and insured). After the buyer confirms delivery and any dispute window closes, your payout is issued promptly — minus the agreed commission. Track payouts from your payouts page.
