Buyer Agreement
Applies to every account registered to bid. Consigning is covered separately by the Seller Agreement.
1. Binding Bids
All bids placed on The Coucou Club are legally binding commitments. By placing a bid, you agree to purchase the artwork at the bid price plus any applicable fees if you are the winning bidder.
2. Buyer's Premium
A buyer's premium will be added to the hammer price. This fee covers platform costs, authentication, and secure handling of the transaction.
3. Payment Terms
When the sale closes, the winning bid and the buyer's premium are charged to the card you saved before bidding.
4. Verification
Before you bid, you confirm your phone number with a one-time code (sent to your account's email until text-message delivery is connected), save a card and pass sanctions screening. Identity verification with a government-issued ID is needed only once you bid for more than the first bidding limit in total: your leading bids, your unpaid wins and your purchases of recent weeks together.
5. Shipping & Delivery
Shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise stated. The Coucou Club coordinates insured shipping through vetted partners. Delivery timelines vary by location.
6. Buyer Protection
All sales are final; a work is not taken back because you changed your mind. If the work is not as described, report it before you confirm delivery. The seller is not paid while we review the report, and if we agree, you are refunded and we arrange the return.
7. Account Conduct
Bid manipulation, shill bidding, or failure to pay for won items may result in permanent account suspension and legal action.
